This familiar song titled “Old Folks at Home”, a minstrel song written by Stephen Foster in 1851. Since 1935, it has been the official state song of Florida, although in 2008 the original lyrics were revised.

Here at The Cottages at Suwannee Preserve we offer the beauty, peace, and calm of the magnificent Suwannee River. Come explore this historical ever-changing river and the surrounding areas with events, festivals, and other activities to do. These three dog-friendly, modern cottages sit on over ten acres of riverfront property with approximately 700 feet on the river. Also on the river is our private boat ramp. Let this property gently take you back in time to a leisurely, relaxed old Florida lifestyle. Amenities shared with the three cottages are a swing set, tether ball, shuffleboard, volleyball and basketball. Each cottage has its own: fire pit, horseshoes, generous parking, separate access, dock and much more.

River Watcher Cottage

This three bedroom, three bath riverfront cottage can accommodate seven people. The cottage features a large private screened in porch and is furnished to help you enjoy the most of the great outdoors. Have some summer fun with a firepit in the yard and a picnic table on the private dock. This dock is equipped to handle all your water sport needs.

Riverbend Cottage

This three bedroom, three bath riverfront cottage can accommodate seven people The cottage is furnished to help you enjoy the most the Suwannee has to offer. It features a private screened in porch with a firepit in the yard for those summer evening s'mores. This cottage also has a private covered dock on the river large enough for all your water fun.

Suwannee House and Bungalow

This cottage, with attached bungalow, is furnished for those larger family gatherings. This four bedroom, four bath riverfront house and bungalow can accommodate 13 guests. It features a private dual functioning porch with both screened and open areas. This cottage offers a firepit in the yard for those late-night s’mores. A private covered dock and boat slip are included with this house so that your family can enjoy all the great water sports the Suwannee has to offer.

"My stay at River Watcher was wonderful. I entered the house and was welcomed with fresh cookies from the host. The home was clean and fully stocked with everything from fresh linens to kitchen utensils. There was a large screened in porch facing the river that made it easy to enjoy the property. The private boat ramp on site was very convenient and there were plenty of areas to park vehicles with or without boat trailers. I had my own private dock to enjoy the river and there were numerous kayaks available to the renters. The host was only a phone call away and was quick to respond to any questions I had. The location is fairly remote which adds to its appeal but it's only a 15 minute drive to the town of Bell where you're able to find anything you might need. This was a wonderful home on a beautiful piece of property making it the perfect place to enjoy the Suwannee River."

"We enjoyed our peaceful getaway at the Riverbend house at the Suwannee Preserve. The house was very clean and comfortable for our party of 4. John greeted us upon arrival and kindly went over the property and local areas of interest. The private boat ramp on the property was a nice convenience. The river was quite cold for our thin Florida-blood (66 degrees) but our teen boys braved it for a short bit. Our Labrador didn’t mind the cold water at all, though! We’d love to return in the summer, when water warms a bit more!"
